Both recent graduates of Master programs at Cranbrook Academy of Art and SUNY New Paltz respectively, Beautyman and Smith negotiate current trends in contemporary studio jewelry and sculpture by sustaining a rigor, imagination, and studious examination of their craft and its place in the world. Their voices are resolute and unique amongst emerging artists in the field.

SIENNA GALLERY continues to promote cutting edge and emerging talents alongside established artists. Through specific exhibitions highlighting new and unique artists every year the gallery brings a fresh perspective to contemporary craft and art in a professional venue. The first Emerging Artist exhibition this year features Suzanne Beautyman and Barb Smith. Following in July will be Monika Krol and Danielle Rizzolo . In November, Maya Kini, the SG Emerging Artist Award recipient for 2009 will present a solo exhibition.

Japanese fashion is on the cutting edge of couture. The Clark looks at Japan's innovative clothing designs and its influence through a women's fashion show curated by Mikki Brown, owner of theBrowns in Williamstown and former vice president of Issey Miyake North America and featuring jewelry from the Sienna Gallery. The show will feature forty different looks by Nuno, Issey Miyake, Martin Margiela, Hanae Mori, Junya Watanabe, Veronique Branquinho, and Comme des Garçons.
